Zoo & summer cafe “PART”
To make the most of the zoo visit, plan at least 1,5-2 hours. You’ll meet all sorts of creatures from different parts of the world. Such as a camel named Kalle, lemurs, marmot, iguanas, parrots, geese and arctic fox. And that’s not all..
A thorough 1,5 h tour with the hosts Risto or Mirge gives a fascinating insight of how they built the zoo and what are the special characteristics of different creatures.
Feeling famished? While enjoying a view on the duck pond, enjoy an elaborate menu for all members of the family.
The souvenir shop offers hand made ceramics made by the landlord Risto himself, farm production such as marinated quail eggs and exciting white label products.
Tour of the zoo with the hosts
Mirge and Risto have really put a lot of effort in both the establishment and really knowing the details about each animal and bird living in Saaremaa Zoo. What they need to live a fulfilled life and what to feed on. In addition, you’ll hear the story of how it all started and what made them build a zoo in the middle of nowhere. By the pond, you’ll meet groups of different birds. In closed but spacious areas you’ll find pheasants, parrots, tufted marmosets and many more. You’ll most definitely meet mini pigs, lambs, rabbits, wallabies, ponies and a lot more.

The lady and mand of the house – Mirge and Risto

The initial plan was simple: live a real country life, on a real farm, give new life to an old and stagnant farm and share its progress.
Zoo is home to over 50 different species and nearly 1,000 animals and birds. Our residents range from exotic species to cute domestic animals, providing guests with a diverse and exciting experience.
The zoo is in constant development – new species and additions to both educational aspects and fun attractions for children and adults are added.
